Welcome TO the canadian hepatitis B network

Advancing HBV research and patient care.

What is hepatitis b?

The hepatitis B virus (HBV) affects over 250 million people worldwide, including ~240,000 Canadians. There is an effective prophylactic vaccine for HBV, but there is no cure for people already infected. Hepatitis B can cause serious liver disease and liver cancer, and many people need lifelong oral treatment. The goal of the Canadian HBV Network is to improve patient identification, referral, treatment and contribute towards HBV cure research.
